Moving, Packing & Loading Tips...

 

 

  • First things needed---razor knife, note pad, bubble wrap,tape, boxes, black marker.UPS will stock most of these items.
  • PACKING TIPS: Try to pack one room at a time, besure to lable each box on top and side, lable which room contents came from and if fragle or not.You can also make a list of whats items are in each box to make unpacking easier.
  • PACKING TIPS: It's a good idea to empty all drawers of breakable or spillable item. Put any knobs, screws, feet, in one box so they want get  misplaced.
  • PACKING TIPS: Do not pack flamable items, candles, heat sensitive items, records, video tapes, cleaning fluids, etc.
  • PACKING TIPS: Wrap all items individually, placing a layer of crushed paper between each item, and a layer in the bottom of the box.
  • PACKING TIPS: Always place heavier items on the botton and lighter ones on top.
  • PACKING TIPS: Make sure the items you will need the first are packed last, so you will be able to get to them.
  • PACKING TIPS: Plan ahead for what you will need the first day after you move, like toilities, change of clothing, etc.
  • MOVING TIPS: When packing your container, try to distribute the weight evenly, according to size and sturdiness of your boxes.

  • BEDDING: Put bedding in clean cartons, pillows, blankets, sheets, can be put in furniture drawers.
  • BEDS: After disassemabling, place all hardware in clear plastic zip lock bag and tape to inside of dresser drawer.
  • BOOKS: Besure to use small, strong, secure tied cartons. Place cover to cover, alter nesting bindings to prevent the page from becoming interlocked and damaged.
  • TOOLS: Wrap your tools separately if valuable, and place in a strong box.
  • CANNED GOODS: Use strong boxes, pack about 20 to 30 cans and not over 45 pounds.
  • VALUABLES: Legal documents, all important paper's, jewelry, and money should be handled by you personally.
  • TV'S: All tv's should be put back in the original shipping box, or wrap in blankets and secure snugly to storage container.
  • PAINTINGS AND PICTURES: Larger pictures should be padded and wrapped, then crated for moving.Small pictures can be placed between pillows and folds of blankets.
  • CHINA: China should be individually wrapped, large plates should be placed on the bottom on 3 inches of paper, small cups and saucers placed near top of box with 2 inches of paper between layers.
  • CLOTHING: Wardrobe boxes work real well for hanging clothes,use suite cases and trunks, and larger boxes for smaller clothing.
  • CLOCKS: Clocks with pendulums should be removed or secured tightly to the base of the clock.Small clocks can be wrapped and placed in boxes.
  • GLASS TOPS: Must be crated or wrapped with blankets and secured to the container.
  • LAMPSHADES: Use clean tissue paper, only in white, mark fragle.

  • WHAT IS THE CONTAINER MADE OF ? The UPS container is made of 22 gauge steel walls and top, and the floor is made of 3/16 diamond plated steel.Our container offers more durability and strength than any of our competition.

  • WHERE WILL YOU PLACE MY UPS CONTAINER?  For convenience, safety, and security, we prefer placing the UPS container on your driveway whenever possible. Placing the container on your grass, may kill the grass, and possiblly tear up the yard.UPS cannot be responsible for any marks, scratches,dents, etc, when delivering and picking up the UPS container, the property owner assumes all responsibility.

  • WHERE CAN I STORE MY UPS CONTAINER?  You can keep the container at your residence or business for a monthly fee, or we will pick it back up and store at our secure storage lot, while there is an additional fee, you can be assured knowing your items are protected in a secure enviroment.When ever you want your items back at your home, we'll deliver the container out to you: Saving you the hassle of moving things in and out of a mini storage.

  • IS THERE A WAY TO SECURE MY ITEMS ?  Yes, UPS rents or sales tie dowm straps to secure items.The straps will ensure against shifting while being stored or moved.

  • WILL I BE ABLE TO LOCK MY UPS CONTAINER? Yes. the UPS rental container has doors on each end and 2 lockable spaces are provided on both doors. You will furnish your own locks for added security.

    HOW DO I PAY?   You may pay using your Visa, Mastercard, or American Express card, or by check.You will be charged the delivery fee,pickup fee, one months rental fee, any moving supplies and deposits when signing and agreeing to the terms and conditions of UPS contract.Any additional monthly fee's, or charges will be billed or added to charge card on record.
